I stayed here. What follows is my own overnight notes — honest, first-person, and separate from the guest quotes further down the page.
Downtown polish on Smithe Street
Walking into JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, I felt the shift from city sidewalk to composed lobby almost immediately. Vancouver’s downtown energy stays outside; inside, service lands soft and precise. My room was immaculate — the kind of tidy that makes you unpack more carefully than usual.
I noticed the bathroom details guests rave about: a shower that invites you to linger, thoughtful amenities, and a layout that prioritises comfort even when the bath space is not the largest room in the suite.
Lounge hours and water walks
Between meetings (and one long evening walk along the water), I used the lounge and watched how staff kept the tone welcoming without hovering. Fitness facilities were excellent — another refrain in guest notes that matched my morning.
This is a large hotel connected to a busy arena-side neighbourhood, so expect scale. What surprised me was how personal the interactions still felt at the desk and at breakfast.
Who it suits
Couples wanting a polished night, conference travellers who need a quiet reset, and anyone who prefers big-hotel reliability with genuine warmth. I left already mentally booking a longer stay next time.
